Lahore Board Receives Several Thousand Recheck Requests

Following a high number of failures in the Class 9 exams, the Lahore Board has been inundated with online requests from students asking for rechecks.  

This year, 150,000 students failed their exams under the Lahore Board. Among the subjects, the History of Pakistan had the lowest pass rate, with only 12.5 percent of students successfully passing it. Other subjects had somewhat better results: 45 percent of students passed Islamic History, 58 percent passed General Math, and 60 percent passed General Science. Chemistry saw a pass rate of 62 percent, while Mathematics had a slightly better pass rate of 63 percent. Civics had a pass rate of 66 percent, and Physics had the highest pass rate among the subjects with 69 percent. 

Students who want their exam papers rechecked have until August 24 to apply. The fee for this rechecking process is Rs. 1400. To apply, students must deposit the fee into the bank and then upload their application online. The Lahore Board will send notifications about the rechecking process to the students via SMS. 

Yesterday, the Lahore Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education announced the results for the Class 9 exams. A total of 287,000 candidates took the exams this year. According to Zahid Mian, the Controller of Examinations for the Lahore Board, out of these, 127,000 students passed their exams while 159,000 did not.
