Protests erupted in Islamabad on Sunday as demonstrators from Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) and Gaza Bachao Tehreek clashed with police while attempting to enter the city's red-zone. The protest aimed to condemn the government's perceived inaction in response to the ongoing violence and atrocities against Palestinians in Gaza.

Led by former senator Mushtaq Ahmad Khan from JI and central leader Humera Tayyaba from Save Gaza Movement, the protestors sought to march towards Parliament House. However, police barricaded the gate leading to D-Chowk, preventing their advance.

Despite negotiations between Mushtaq Ahmad Khan and Federal Police SSP Abdul Aleem, permission to enter the red-zone was denied, leading to a confrontation. The JI spokesperson reported that police resorted to baton-charging peaceful protestors, resulting in injuries, prompting some demonstrators to retaliate by pelting stones.

Subsequently, protestors staged a six-hour sit-in near D-Chowk, breaking their fast on the street. They vowed to continue their protests, announcing another sit-in for the following Sunday at the same location.

Addressing the demonstrators, Humera Tayyaba emphasized the global significance of their campaign, aiming to pressure Israel and its supporters. She criticized the Pakistan government for ignoring their demands, asserting their determination to continue protesting despite threats.

Mushtaq Ahmad Khan reiterated their commitment to Gaza's cause, condemning the government's perceived pro-Israel stance. He accused the government of obstructing their peaceful protest, calling for the immediate removal of police barriers.

Asserting that their protest aligns with parliamentary resolutions condemning Israeli atrocities, Khan criticized prominent Muslim leaders for their alleged inaction. He called on the army chief to intervene and urged Pakistan to play a more active role in the ceasefire efforts.

Furthermore, Khan demanded international accountability for Israel's actions, including legal action in the International Court of Justice and hearings in the UN Security Council. He condemned the government's attempt to suppress their voices, reaffirming their condemnation of Israel, the US, and Europe.

Meanwhile, JI chief Sirajul Haq, speaking in Jaranwala, criticized the government's legitimacy, suggesting that those who gained power through electoral manipulation would face public backlash. He highlighted the economic hardships faced by the populace due to inflation.

In conclusion, the protests in Islamabad underscore a growing discontent among Pakistanis over the government's perceived indifference towards international issues, particularly the plight of Palestinians in Gaza. اسلام آباد میں اتوار کو احتجاجی مظاہرہ برپا ہوا جب جماعتِ اسلامی اور غزہ بچاؤ تحریک کے مشتبہ شریکین پولیس کے ساتھ تصادم کیا جب وہ شہر کے لال مرکز میں داخل ہونے کی کوشش کر رہے تھے۔ احتجاج کا مقصد حکومت کی ناکارہ عمل کی مذمت کرنا تھا جو غزہ میں مسلسل ظلم و ستم اور وحشیانہ کارروائیوں کے ردعمل میں غائبی کو باریکی سے لینے کا الزام ہے۔

جماعتِ اسلامی کے سابق سینیٹر مشتاق احمد خان اور سیو گزہ تحریک کے وسطی قائد حمیرا طیبہ کی رہنمائی میں احتجاجی مظاہرہ پارلیمنٹ ہاؤس کی طرف مارچ کرنے کی کوشش کی۔ البتہ پولیس نے د چوک کے راستے کو بند کر کے ان کی آگے بڑھنے سے روک دیا۔

مشتاق احمد خان اور فیڈرل پولیس ایس ایس پی عبدالعلیم کے درمیان مذاکرات کے باوجود، لال مرکز میں داخل ہونے کی اجازت دی نہیں گئی، جس سے ایک تصادم پیدا ہوا۔ جماعتِ اسلامی کے ایک نمائندے نے رپورٹ کیا کہ پولیس نے امن پسند مظاہرین پر بیٹن چارج کیا، جس سے زخمی ہوئے، جس نے کچھ مظاہرین کو پتھر برسانے کے لئے تحریک دی۔

مشتاق احمد خان نے غزہ کے مقصد کی پیروی پر دوبارہ زور دیا، اور حکومت کی مذمت کی جو ان کی نظر میں اسرائیل کی حمایت کرتی ہے۔ انہوں نے حکومت کو ان کی امن پسند احتجاج کو روکنے کی فوری ہٹاو کی مانگ کی۔

انہوں نے کہا کہ ان کا احتجاج پارلیمانی قراردادوں کے مطابق ہے، جو اسرائیلی ظلمات کی مذمت کرتی ہیں، کان نمائندگان کی غیر حرکت پر تنقید کی اور فوجی چیف کو وسیع ترین حراست میں مداخلت کرنے اور پاکستان کو سیزفائر کے معاہدے میں فعال کرنے کی اپیل کی۔
