Hundreds of Teachers in KP Have Not Received Salaries in Several Years

It has come to light that many teachers in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) have not received their salaries for several years. A report detailing this situation has been submitted to the provincial assembly, highlighting a serious issue affecting educators in the region.

According to the report, there are two main groups of teachers affected:

  • 389 teachers from the Elementary and Secondary Education Foundation have not been paid for the past three years.
  • 727 teachers from the same foundation have not received their salaries for the past year.

This problem is attributed to a financial crisis faced by the province. The Education Department has explained that KP has been struggling with a lack of funds. Specifically, the province has not released a total of 450 million rupees over the past three years, which has led to the inability to pay these teachers.(ARY News - KP Teachers Salaries)
