First Pakistani Named President of Trinity College MCR at Oxford

Raza Nazar, a student pursuing a Bachelor of Civil Laws (BCL) at the University of Oxford, has been chosen as the President of the graduate community (MCR) at Trinity College. He is the first Pakistani to hold this position at the prestigious college.

Raza’s academic interests are focused on constitutional law, jurisprudence, and political theory. Before Oxford, he studied at Karachi Grammar School and completed his International Baccalaureate Diploma at the United World College in Singapore. He then earned a Double First in Law (LLB) from the London School of Economics (LSE), where he was ranked 2nd in his class for Jurisprudence.

Notably, Raza was also the first Pakistani elected President of the LSE Law Society, which won the “Best Student Society” award in 2018 during his term. He led the LSE Pakistan Society and founded the LSE Future of Pakistan Conference at just 19, creating a platform for discussions among ministers, academics, and students.

Raza has written several papers, including one for the Oxford University Comparative Law Journal (OUCLJ) about a key Supreme Court case involving the Chief of Army Staff's tenure extension.

With his strong academic and leadership background, Raza plans to research and improve constitution-making practices in Asia and contribute to the understanding of constitutional duties.(ARY News - Raza Nazar Elected President)
