Highest number of drones ever used in a short film tells the story of Zayed International Airport

The highest number of drones ever used in a short film was utilized to tell the story of Zayed International Airport in Abu Dhabi. This cinematic launch showcased a breathtaking fusion of tradition and innovation, featuring birds of prey and drones coming together in a spectacular aerial display. The drone falcon transforms into an Airbus A380 and lands on the runway, bursting into a mass of twinkling lights flying back up into the sky to form the new logo for the Zayed International Airport.

The new symbol celebrates Abu Dhabi’s heritage with shapes and symbols inspired by its elemental landscape and history. The symbol features a dhow boat, a date palm tree, the desert sun, the Qasr Al Hosn Fort and the building. These icons form a new logo to express the identity of Abu Dhabi and invite passengers to create their own stories as well.(Seo of airports)

Abu Dhabi Airports Managing Director and CEO Elena Sorlini said, "This video captures the sense of freedom and space of Zayed International Airport; it is a fantastic medium showcasing the blending of tradition and innovation in our stunning new terminal.” “Zayed International was designed to give the best user experience to passengers and partners alike, and it is poised to capture the rising tourism demand for Abu Dhabi.”

The film shows how Abu Dhabi's rich culture, history and spirit of innovation have led to this moment: the launch of the most innovative travel experience of our time. It captures the beauty of the desert while celebrating innovation to reveal the majesty of the airport, rebranded with elements of the Emirati culture and encompassing the strong foundation of Arabian heritage fostered by the vision of the UAE founding father - Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.

Once liberated, the stately falcon mutates into a giant drone falcon that banks, beating its wings and turning toward the airport runway; it circles above and morphs into an A380, while the beauty of the terminal architecture comes into view.

The airport was renamed to honor the United Arab Emirates founder and first President, Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, who served from 1971 until 2004. The Zayed International Airport rebrand included elements to honor Emirati culture and the strong foundation of Arabian heritage fostered by the airport’s namesake.

The film opens with a falcon, a symbol of Arabian culture. Different cultures have used Falcons for hunting for centuries, from the ancient world to nobles in Medieval Europe. The falcon is a predator, using its sharp beak to hunt food, able to find food a mile away. They are an iconic symbol of aviation, like the Dassault Falcon family of jets. With its blinders off, the falcon flies off in the film, and the scene changes. The viewer then sees a drone falcon flying over the airport. The sky is lit up with a falcon made up of hundreds of lit up drones, beating its wings and turning to the runway.
